Description
Double Distilled Turpentine Oil, known in the trade as DDTO or simply DD turpentine, is passed through a second distillation to strip the heavier fractions and residual colour that ordinary turpentine carries. The result is a water white oil with a noticeably cleaner odour and a tighter boiling range.
It is specified where appearance and low residue matter: pale coloured coatings, pharmaceutical preparations and applications where the finished product carries the solvent's own odour.
